Clear thinking for stronger boundaries
ShieldAPI.com is an independent publication about API security and the application boundaries around AI. The site focuses on practical explanations of API shields, authorization, firewalls, request contracts, LLM workflows, resource controls, and incident readiness.
The aim is to make a complicated design easier to discuss: what the system trusts, what the caller may do, which component makes each decision, and how the team verifies the result. Bright design belongs alongside careful engineering, not instead of it.
Who these guides are for
The content is written for developers, platform teams, application security practitioners, technical founders, and product teams making implementation decisions. Start with the quickstart playbook when you need a first workflow map. Use the security glossary when a term needs a clearer definition.
The Shield Journal adds ten longer guides with concrete scenarios, tradeoffs, and review questions. Topic hubs connect those articles so a question about a firewall can lead naturally to the application permission checks that still need attention.
The editorial approach
Articles are published under ShieldAPI.com Editorial. We distinguish primary-reference foundations from our own examples and suggested implementation workflows. Product labels are not treated as standardized guarantees, and illustrative values are not presented as measured performance.
Read the editorial policy for sourcing and correction practices. The reference library identifies the official materials used in the guides. Naming a reference organization does not imply its endorsement or a partnership with ShieldAPI.com.

For topic ideas, start with the boundary that is difficult to explain or test. Useful security writing begins with a precise question and a real decision someone needs to make.
